Feeling Tossed in Stormy Seas

A friend of mine posted several Aivazovsky paintings on Facebook that really caught my attention. I love paintings of the ocean, especially when the artist captures light and emotion like Aivazovsky does.

Among the Waves

This painting, Among the Waves, seems so real to me.

I can feel the wind whipping, wet and salty and stinging; the sky is darkening; the waves are white-capped; the deck is roiling under my feet.

Will It Crash?

It looks like the coast is close, but I wonder if the ship will crash on hidden rocks?

I feel my legs brace as the red, "Bloody Flag of Defiance" flies in the fierce wind. It signalizes absolute unwillingness to give up.

The turbulence of life has made me feel like this at times - literally sick to my stomach, nauseous with the emotions that are tossing me around. Yet I am determined to make it through the grief, or shock, or pain.

The Dawning Light

The second painting (below) feels peaceful. Dawn's light is breaking. The storm has passed; the seas are finally calm. The sun has burned away the mist, and I notice that the captain made it safely to shore.

But Will It Last?

These two paintings remind me of conversations with my one-on-one clients, and the entrepreneurs who join in the Atomic Success Secrets group-healing sessions that I lead.

Clients want to know if healing will last? Will the seas stay calm? Will I make it to shore? Or will I just get triggered and fall back again?

Will the issue that is traumatizing me be gone for good?

The anxiety and imposter syndrome, the physical pain and negative beliefs, can I get beyond them permanently?

Skilled Navigators

"The more often the captain of a ship is in the tempest and difficult sailing the greater his knowledge becomes." Abdu'l-Baha

What I see is that my clients and participants in the Atomic Success Secrets group are learning to be masterful sailors in life. All are gaining experience, turning into the wind and waves and riding them with more confidence.

There is a system to find peace in any circumstance, and not stay stuck just wasting time, longing for a different experience.

I heard Caroline Myss state that in the same way that we will experience puberty whether we believe in it or not, we will eventually experience less fear and resistant to life and gain more trust as we mature.  We will be able to ride life's turbulent waves with more confidence.

When we come to realize that at the core, life is happening for us, rather than happening tous, we can face the challenges. We can open our hearts, enjoy immense freedom, and navigate our lives with more certitude, and joy.
